This is from the first roll of film that I put through my new Lomo LC-A+ rangefinder camera. I'm still getting the hang of its zone focus controls, but I like the way this one came out.
It's funny...when I first got my DSLR last year, I loved the ability to learn at such a fast pace because of the immediacy of the results on the back of the camera. I still do. However, thanks to a gift Holga last Christmas, I've rediscovered my love of film and delayed gratification. I like the discipline of making sure that I've set everything correctly the first time to achieve the effect that I want.
There is something so much more gratifying and exciting about the anticipation of taking a shot and imagining how it will turn out. Sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. But, not finding out 2 seconds after I press the shutter is refreshing.
